Summary:
The partner of a famous actress loves his wife more than anything. She is
kind, beautiful, graceful, funny, and strong. He adores the way her smile
lights up the screen, captivating millions—but only he truly knows her.
Even in the heat of an argument, when her fiery gaze locks onto his and
her voice commands attention, he finds himself entranced.
But the world is always watching.
The paparazzi are a nuisance, but they are nothing compared to the
others. The ones who look at her as if they love her. As if they know her.
Some even dare to believe that they actually do.
They follow us. Follow her.
She doesn’t know. Because of me. She doesn’t need to. I make sure of it.
And if keeping her safe means letting my hands drip red, then so be it.
The diner. The lovely little diner where we met, where we return again
and again. And where she met her. I knew from the start. Knew she was
like the others. But I tried, for my wife’s sake, to give her the benefit of the
doubt. She liked her immediately. Trusted her.
I was wrong.
She’s good—better than the others. Smarter. More careful. But I see her.
Watching. Following. Lingering.
I won’t let it last. My wife does not need to fret over creatures like her.
Maybe once she’s gone, I’ll pull my love away from the starlight. Give us
the quiet, normal life we deserve. Or perhaps I’ll do the opposite. Perhaps
I’ll carve my name into history, so the whole world knows who she loves.
My wife. My love.
Mine.
